if you own a boat, you know all about boat trouble. this was nothing major beside the fact that vince waited till the last min to fix it. this picture is snapped about 7 min till blast off for the tournament. just needed a new cord for the tolling motor. we got it fixed just in the nic-o-time.

on the hunt

from the easter egg hunt at my sisters house. havent been doing much in the way of fishing lately thanks to lyla jane. leahs mom comes into town on thursday so im going to fish my thursday night tourney. hopefully we will do well and ill have some pics to post, until then youre stuck with pics of fern and lyla jane.

aunt cara

my brother and sister-in-law kept fern for us while we were in the hospital. we owe them big time. thanks guys!!! this is my sister-in-law, cara, from when she brought fern up to see lyla in the hospital.

big sis

so fern is a big sister now. shes gonna have to step up and be a good example. im sure as they r growing up they will never fight and always be best friends. ok, maybe not, but so far they seem to be getting along great. fern came to the hospital yesterday and everything went well. leah and lyla r getting released early (tonight @ 7pm) which is really nice. leah is ready to get home to her own bed!

thursday night tourney update: dustin and vince did pretty well last night on winter haven's south chain of lakes. they placed 5th, which doesnt get any money but it gets us a free spot in next weeks tourney, so congrats guys. and thanks for filling bro! vince probably wants to trade me in now.

fresh catch of the day

lyla jane kirby was born this morning at 1:01am. 8lbs 3oz, good "keeper" size. she was 2 1/2 weeks early but very healthy. everything went well! thanks for all your prayers. sorry about the pics, my photojournalist side kicked in and thats why the baby still has a lot of "funk" still on her. please post comments! you do not have to register but make sure you sign your name so we know who its from. my brother is filling in for me at my thursday night bass tournament with vince. good luck guys! vince said he would match lyla's weight with big bass.

the streets

from our trip to kissimmee. while we were down there we ran into dane and robin streets.

golf

went golfing with my brother and friends this weekend for my birthday. hit the big 29 on saturday. thats as close to 30 as u can get. we had a good time, didnt play very well, but had a good time. as you can see we spent a good bit of time goofing of rather then playing serious golf.

world record

some of you may have already seen this but a couple of weeks ago the largest bass ever recorded was caught in califonia. would of broken the long standing record set by george perry in 1932, 22 pounds 4 ounces. this bass was 25 pounds 1 ounce. only thing is the guy let the bass go because he had accidentally foul hooked (not in the mouth) the fish. he didnt want a tainted record. the guy has more integrity than I do, that fish is worth a ton in endorsements. i don’t know that I could of let it go with out getting an official weight first and the new world record title and never mentioning the fact that I snagged the fish. to read the story click here.

ncaa champs

im posting this gator pic in tribute of the florida gators winning the national championship on monday night. im not a gator fan (go miami) but when it comes down to it i will pull for any florida team over another state. this is from last weeks fishing trip. this gator was just sitting up in a tree and I thought it would make a nice pic. he let me get within a couple of feet before he dove into the lake below.

spring break bass

one of the benefits to being a teacher (not a huge paycheck) is spring break. guess what i did this spring break? these are all pictures from different fishing trips during last week. pictures include; vince, dustin, richard p, richard d, and myself. we all caught some pretty nice bass but i think vince wins for the largest.

wild game cookout

we had a wild game cookout last night at my brothers house. duck, dove, turkey, snipe and bass. all were harvested this past hunting season. dustin was in charge of the frying and i was in charge of the grill. the ladies made all the fixins, cheese grits, black-eyed peas and cornbread. everything tasted great and we all had a good time. my favorite was the fried turkey and the grilled duck. pictures r of dustin goofing around with the turkey while i make dove kabobs in the back and a close up of my tasty kabobs. aint they perty? please post comments! u dont have to register

gator hunt

ok, so it wasnt exactly a real gator hunt. my brother took his boys down to river ranch on the kissimmee river and he asked me to go along. one night we went out spotlighting gators so the boys could see them close up. it was a lot of fun. the next day we caught some nice bass. more pics to come!!
